Job Summary

The Companion Caregiver provides non-medical companionship and supportive services to clients in their homes. This position focuses on promoting emotional well-being, reducing social isolation, and assisting with everyday activities that help clients remain independent. The ideal candidate is caring, dependable, patient, and enjoys building meaningful relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship through conversation, social interaction, and emotional support.
• Accompany clients on walks, appointments, errands, and recreational activities.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and light kitchen cleanup.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and organizing living spaces.
• Assist with grocery shopping and other household errands.
• Encourage clients to participate in hobbies, games, reading, and other stimulating activities.
• Provide medication reminders as directed (no medication administration).
• Observe and report changes in clients' physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate daily care notes and documentation.
• Follow each client's individualized care plan while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and respect.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous caregiving, companion care, customer service, or home care experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a positive attitude.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships with clients and their families.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance preferred.
• Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds and assist clients with light mobility needs.
• Must successfully pass a background check and meet all agency hiring requirements.
